Talking The TUSC

What a great day for a paddle!!! Temps mid 70's and partly cloudy. Doesn't get much better.
So we got to paddle the Tuscarawas River.

We did use NTR Canoe Livery, they are easy to work with and there staff is friendly and helpful.
They worked the pricing up different since I deleted my email and it worked out in our favor.
Instead of it being close to $400 it came out to $286 for our shuttle.

We had 16 Kayaks, 3 Canoes with 21 paddlers.
We ended up paddling 6.5 miles from what DJ GPS told us.

This section is very scenic with lots of little riffles and a nice current 3/4 of the paddle.
The water level was low but we managed to get by.
The USGS gauge at Massillon was .93ft
Anything below that I wouldn't want to try it.

At our lunch spot we found a old log cabin and camp area used for civil war reenactments that had a sign in sheet inside the cabin. A bunch of us signed it and got some great pictures.

After the paddle a group of us tried Vaughn's but it was packed and over 21 to get in.
Steve came threw and found the Canal Tavern of Zoar for a much more relaxing environment.

Over all a great day with even better company.

Mike Danko

PS Happy 45th Anniversary to Rich and Patty Allan
