Wink Side Trip Report

Total of eight brave TCT members showed to paddle and scout the lower grand river.
Pat, Grace, Michael, Donna, Scott, Ron, Jessica and myself.
This 7 mike flat section is very scenic and very different from the upper grand river that the club does.
The Lower is much narrower and slower moving water and resembles the upper Mahoning.
In this section we ran in to 4 portages due to tree's being down. The first three weren't bad, but the last one was tough as we had to work as a team to get up and over the log jam by shore.
Again Ron ended up teaching us good ways to work together and why rope is very important to have when scouting a river. and how to use it to get boats up and over a hill.
Over all a good trip except for all the mud. Glade we scouted to see if the club could do it. Until the jams are gone we will wait.

Afterward we went to dinner at A&W in Orwell.

Default Mud

Just got done cleaning the muddy kayaks, muddy skirts, muddy pfd's, muddy shoes but hey, it was fun! Beautiful day, good people, and learned how to portage, A LOT. Thanks everyone.
