Meeting
As per the newsletter, we will be having a meeting at this run. I'm flexible on this, but I'm thinking of having the meeting on our lunch stop so as not to delay the shuttle and start time of the run. I've got a couple clipboards to take notes on! We need to talk about our non-profit status, the USCG Aux. safety course, election of officers, party plans, and any other gripes, grievances, insults or accolades you wish to bring up.
So far, looks like nice weather Sunday. Cool, but sunny.

I am fine if you want to have the meeting on our lunch stop or after the shuttle. However, I think the lunch stop is a good idea.
BTW, I heard canipsy season opens on the 23rd. Be careful. |

Right you are, Jonathan, it is indeed open seanson on canypsies. I hope to be able to make the trip, but I am unsure at this point in time. As a side note, the previous post by 85dragonfly seems to be a rather thinly diguised call for a Canypsy Gathering of the Clans in 2012, perhaps we should take note of which of our T-grip members attend this event. LOL. I hate to admit it but I don't know if there is a similar event for those of us (kayakers) on the Darkside.

Great trip Jonathan,
Weather was great, the water was amazing and the tree's just looked great. We had some good spills that added up to 6 spills which is 2 less than the beaver creek in April. The shuttle back at the end was great, 13 boats on chucks trailer, and four in Jon's truck with 6 people 2 dogs and a exercise ball in the bed of chucks new truck. What a day Thanks again Mike |

How did you spill
I have done that stretch of river many times and alot of them were solo so how did you spill? The only way I spilled is, before your club cut open the log jam on the old railroad bridge portaging around, but there is that tree in the very begining that is in the current. The rapid after 224 bridge is very easy I taken people who were never in kayaks before through it.
