Mahoning River: Thanks
The Mahoning river on June 27th was a great trip. It ended up being a little longer than thought do to the water really slowing down since I scouted it.
We travel a total of 11 mile per Stan. We started off with 16 boats ( 2 Canoes & 14 Kayaks) A very pretty paddle from the Ball fields to Canoe City, were we took a break and were five people had to stop, but was glade they came. The ten remaining went on to play in front of the damn and most of the remaining trip. I broke my paddle going back up stream in the one rapid we encountered, and thanks to Larry, Stan, & Tom (aka MacGyver's) we got it back in working order. We Started in the Water about 11 am and the last ones off the water were about 4:30. Thanks to all who came and helped with the shuttles Mike Danko |

Thanks for a really nice trip, Mike. Wish my schedule would have allowed me to make it all the way to Packard Park....
I've posted a few pictures from the first part of the trip in a new Mahoning River album. jp |

Mike-
Thanx again for leading this. I can still feel Sunday's sun on my skin! Did you lose a pair of red and gray gloves Friday nite? raynovotny@yahoo.com |
