Lightning Bug paddle Saturday, July 19th

This is how I describe this paddle in Mill Creek MetroParks program calendar. It is open to the public, and of course, fellow TCT members.

BYOK: Lightning Bugs
Saturday, July 19 @ 8:30 PM - 10:30 PM Free
Bring your own kayaks for an evening on the water with lightning bugs to hopefully light the way. Not for first-time kayakers or under 18. Please bring a light/glow sticks. Meet at East Newport Boat Launch.

Register at Ford Nature Center by 7/19 (330.740.7107).

Was hoping to report a "great time", but the Lightning Bug float was cancelled, no re-schedule that I'm aware of...

Pretty much unprecedented.

But weather conditions were not conducive to viewing lightning bugs (in addition to being unpleasant for kayakers).

I have to plan my park schedule two-three months in advance and thus unfortunately I really don't have an open weekend night during firefly season 2014.
