West PA Solo Canoe Rendezvous 6/11-13

The third annual edition of this event will be held June 11, 12, and 13 (Friday through Sunday) at Cooper's Lake Campground in Portersville PA. The event focuses specifically on the Solo Canoe, but tandems are welcome as well. There will be a number of manufacturers on site with demo models of many of their boats available for test paddling on the lake. At this time Hemlock Canoes, Placid Boatworks, Colden Canoe, and Dogpaddle Canoe and Woodworks are expected to attend, and others are pending.

Solo & Tandem Freestyle demos and informal classes Saturday and Sunday. Times to be announced

Saturday Night Special:
On site picnic dinner (for a small donation to the cause)
Beer Tasting (from North Country Brewery)
Acoustic Blues & Jazz from Jim Perrett
Candlelight Paddle
Who could ask for anything more???

Other demos, talks and discussions to be announced.

Three Rivers Chapter of the Wooden Canoe Heritage Assoc. will be on hand with a selection of vintage, classic wooden canoes.

Also, on-site vendor for Continental breakfast and lunch on Saturday.

Usual dough nut and coffee on Sunday.

Pick-up trips on local streams/rivers; boats and gear for sale and swap. An assemblage of new and classic

Organic Cotton T-shirts with two solo paddlers on back silhouetted against the moon and WPASCR 2010 on left breast. Available in 4 colors and 4 sizes. Photo should be up on site within 48 hours with ordering info.

The Event is free, though campground charges a day-tripper fee.
