Default Beaver Creek April 11

Keelhaulers Canoe Club is having an open trip on Beaver Creek this upcoming Saturday:

With the forecast that I see for the upcoming week it would probably be a good idea to keep an eye on the gauges. I have a feeling a LOT of good creeks might be running this weekend.

Beaver Creek gauge is at 2,300 cfs and rising, with more rain coming today & maybe tomorrow. So the levels this for the KHCC trip this weekend are going go to be pretty high. Not treacherous by any means, but quite a bit of flow.

But this might be one of those glorious spring weekends when the rains bring up a all the creeks. I was out on Bear Creek yesterday morning at a medium flow (great time BTW) and it's got more rain yesterday and will get more today.

I plan on getting out on some easy (class II) whitewater this weekend, probably early Saturday morning. Depending on the rain today and Friday the destinations might include Deer Creek, Bear Creek, Scrubgrass Creek, or East Sandy Creek. Anyone interested in coming along post up here.

Default Conneaut Creek or Ashtabula River

I am not a keelhauler fan, to many bad experiences with them.

If anyone would like to I am going to shoot for Conneaut Creek on Saturday. I am going to be watching the levels.
Plus I can hit Ashtabula River on my way past Conneaut for some great class II whitewater.
Will post up dates

I used to lead trips for KHCC, but I don't paddle with them any more. They're just too slow. Not that I want to race down a creek, but 4 hours for 6 miles is ridiculous.

Looks like another group is heading to Beaver Creek for a trip this weekend. This one is Northeast Ohio Outdoor Recreation, a Facebook outdoors community.

You'll have to check their FB page for details, but it looks like a beginners level trip on the upper sections of Beaver Creek on Sunday.
