question
are we permitted to park at the Labre ball fields at any time or is permission needed? also how far is it to paddle to Canoe City from there.

Far as I know we are allowed. I have talked with george who is the president of the labrae athletic's. Make sure you park by the river, out of the way of the fields.
From the fields to canoe city is about 2 hours. It is a nice and easy flat ride. Once you hit the 82 by pass on the mahoning you are 1 mile from canoe city. I do this section alot, and it is my run as well for the picnic and later this fall we hope to be opening the new thomas swifty park just down from the ball fields. Any questions just ask. thanks for the info. i have gone from Canoe city toward the ball fields but wasnt sure how far it is. i wear my garmin ( running watch) and have gone three miles up and then back to Canoe city. the current is easy to paddle either way. i appriciate the info !!!
only been kayaking for a couple of months now but sure am hooked. i hope to meet up with the group in the coming months also. thanks again Lou |
