Default Paddling on Mosquito Creek?

I just bought a condo in Woodland Trails (Cortland) that is only a couple hundred feet from Mosquito Creek - but I wasn't sure if this section was deep/wide enough to be used for kayaking at any point throughout the year?

If anyone happens to know anything about this section, let me know!

Cheers!

The club's Ice Breaker Run on 3/22/15 was on Mosquito Creek. We put in at Kennedy Park, paddled upstream about a mile beyond Route 422, and returned to Kennedy Park. The reading on the gage near Mosquio Lake Dam was 2.63, "a couple feet higher than normal," according to my trip notes. Mike Danko will know more about paddling this creek.

Hello,
The creek is wide enough and deep enough most of the year, but the problem are the down tree's. There are some massive blockage on the creek from south of elm road all the way to up a creek tavern.

The section we did in 2015 is also in trouble with a tree that is so huge that I can even make a dent in it with a 14" chainsaw.
If need give me a call.

Thanks for the info! Glad to hear it's paddle-able, even if it means I'll be spending some weekends clearing it out first.

Once it's clear, it will be great to just be able to drop in and go!

Do we know if the typical 10-feet off the river bank rule applies here? Just wondering to make sure I don't overstep my bounds when trying to clear it out.

Cheers!
