Shenango River-Westmiddle Sex
Putting in at the West Middlesex boat launch, 65 Penn Ave, West Middlesex, PA 16159 (GPS-41.171917, -80.459952)
Take out St Rt. 208 in Pulaski, 1877 PA-208, Pulaski, PA 16143 (GPA-41.113416, -80.436605) We will meet at 11AM and drop off all boats and run the shuttle to the take out. Please back a lunch and plenty of water. I belief this is about a 7 mile paddle with very scenic views down the paddle with a great rapid to play in just past the take out. 2011 when we did this section last many of us had fun in the rapid after ward. We're planning on coming. We may be a little tight on the 11am time as I get off work at 9:30. We'll have the truck loaded so we can leave when I get home.

Can't make the trip today. Hope the water is up and winds are light and that everyone has a great time on the river.

What a great trip, great temperature and partly cloudy with a nice little current that made for a great paddle down the shenango river.
14 paddlers in all with 3 canoes and 9 kayaks making the trek. Thank you to ED for coming and helping with the shuttle but he was missed during the paddle. Jewel picked out a great spot for lunch that had plenty of room and good parking for the boats. Thanks to Jason Mulloy we found out the trip is 6 miles, not 7 as I thought. Thank you to all who came down to paddle the shenango from west Middlesex to Pulaski, Mike Danko |
