Most fun section is from Sprucevale in Beaver Creek State Park to the public access area off PA Rte 68 just before the creek empties to the Ohio River. It's about 11 river miles. Class two rapids at Fredericktown, below Grimm's Bridge, and about a mile above the take out.
There was a tree across the creek about a half mile below the put in when the club paddled this in April and when a few others paddled it a couple weeks ago. You will need to carry around on the right Water level is likely to be approaching paddling zero (3.0 on USGS gage) by Saturday if we don't get any rain. So expect a fair amount of bumping and scraping. You've never paddled before or never paddled Beaver Creek before? Last edited by JPTolson; 07-10-2014 at 10:04 PM. |
