Default Fishing in the Mahoning

We put in at the old stop 14 bridge in Struthers (the bottom of Walton street) and paddled up to the first riffle area, about a half mile upstream........ just short of the Center Street bridge. Me and Tom caught 12 to 15 small mouth bass , the largest being maybe 14 inches. The river was slow and very relaxing. I am planning to take a trip from Struthers down through Lowellville next week. If anyone knows of any issues I should be aware of, in that stretch of the river, please let me know.

If you go through Struthers dam the far left chute or far right chutes and passable. After that it is a great paddle to Lowellville. Once at Lowellville dam the far river right chute on the dam is open. After the green bridge is a nice class 1-2 rapid at the at cuffer dam. have fun be safe mike
