Default Allegheny River Sept. 25

Trumbull Canoe Trails
Allegheny River
Car Camping At Buckaloons Campground
September 26, 2015
10:00 am Buckaloons Recreation Area
The Allegheny River
The river is located in the Northeastern United States and is a principal tributary of the Ohio River
The river is approximately 321*miles (517*km) long, and drains a rural dissected plateau of 11,580*square miles (30,000*km?) in the northern Allegheny Plateau, providing the farthest northeastern drainage in the watershed of the Mississippi River. The valley of the Allegheny River is one of the most productive areas of energy extraction in U.S. history, with extensive deposits of coal, petroleum, and natural gas.
In 1992, 86.6*miles (139.4*km) of the Allegheny River was designated a National Wild and Scenic River. This designation comprises three segments of the river located in Warren, Forest and Venango Counties. Seven islands in the river located between Kinzua Dam and Oil City, total 368*acres (1*km?), comprise the Allegheny Islands Wilderness, the smallest federally designated wilderness area in the United States. These designations have been made due to the significant ecological, scenic and recreational features of the river.

Default I'm camping all weekend!

I'll be heading up Friday night and camping at Buckaloons with my ski buddies Valerie & Erick (hopefully!!) Val's bringing her girlfriend Michelle and their dogs. (The campground is cool with dogs ON a leash but does not allow them on the beaches or in the water.) I'm still working on getting out of work early that Friday and hope to be able to get there with enough time to set up my tent before dark. (Yes, Rich . . . my "hot pocket" tent - the one the BEARS just LOVE!)
Looking forward to another great camping & kayaking weekend with the Trumbull Canoe Trails!!

Hi everyone.

I haven't paddled with you guys in awhile. I hope all is well. Am thinking about joining you this weekend for the camping trip; will firm up my plans later this week. If I go I'd be interested in sharing a site with someone.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to make it this weekend after all. Too bad, 'cause the weather promises to be fantastic and I would have enjoyed paddling with the group again. Have fun!

Default Blue Camping Chair

I have someone's blue chair that went camping this us this weekend. I think our chairs were accidently switched since my blue chair went missing and they look a lot alike. My cell is (440) 479-6187. I will be at the Grand River trip in a couple weeks and can bring it then or can meet you somewhere just let me know.

Thanks Rich and Patty for a fun weekend.
