Mahoning River-Struthers to Hillsville
Mahoning River-Struthers to Hillsville launch
Trip Leader-Mike Danko When-Sunday June 2nd Where- Struther Community Launch- Bob Cene Way Bridge GPS 41.06299226196786, -80.59796794085212 Length Little over 6 miles Rapids Several Class I rapids and one class II Time 11 am I thought I would try a different section of the mahoning for a trip. This is also a great trip for those who would like a shorter trip this time of year. We will take off from struthers and finish at the Beyond Corporation, LLC Boat Access Area in Hillsville PA. We will pass through Lowellville and we won't be stopping for lunch, maybe a quick stretch at lowellville. As we pass through Lowellville we will go through wing dam rapid a Class II rapid then around the island. May have a small portage around the island depending on water level. Any questions please call or text me 330-766-3129 Hope to see ya on this fun stretch of the mahoning river Mike Danko

I, too, hope to be paddling tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Trip Review
With the call of rain most of the day we decided to cut the paddle to a shorter section. We had 6 paddlers in 5 Kayaks and 1 Canoe and a K9 name Harley.
We paddled from Struthers launch and took out in Lowellville for a 3.75 mile paddle. Water Level 3.01 ft with a nice current. We had several class I riffles and it turned out to be a nice easy paddle. Best part we all stayed dry. Mike
