Letters of Support
Trumbull Canoe Trails
To all current and former members of the Trumbull Canoe Trails. We are be asked to help two separate organization that are in the Mahoning Valley and Shenango Valley. First is Lawrence County PA. They are trying get grants and show of support to add or fix a few monitors that are no longer functioning but in the water. (example would be a usgs gauge). Would we be able to send a letter of support for this grant application. These monitors would help us with knowing the levels of the Shenango River, Neshannock Creek, & maybe Hickory Run. The Shenango is a River is a flat water river and sister river to the Mahoning. The two rivers join in Mahoning town PA to form the Beaver River. As a club be are starting to paddle more and more on the Shenango and also will be do the Neshannock this may. The monitors could be a big help to us and other clubs as well. Please write all support letters to Doniele Russell who works for Lawrence County PA and was at our planning meeting in February. donielerussell@gmail.com __________________________________________________ _____________ The second letter of support needed form our club is on our home river. The Friends of the Mahoning are working on putting a canoe/ kayak launch in Girard OH. This launch would help connect the water way for paddlers from Trumbull County to Mahoning County. This launch would make it much easier to paddle from Girard to the B & O Station in downtown Youngstown. This launch would be a lot like the new ones going in at the Trumbull Metro Parks with parking a well lighted for evening paddles and take out. This section is about 7 miles with one mandatory portage around the division street dam. ( easy portage). We also will be paddling this section the day after river fest in June. “We need survey results for an ODNR grant application, for a Girard canoe/kayak launch site on the Mahoning. Below is the 2 sentence survey: 1. Would you use the proposed Girard Launch Site at least once per year? Yes___ No___ 2. Would you use the proposed Girard Launch Site at least once a month or more Yes___ No___ You can reply to this email and note your response as either 1 or 2. That’s all! I need these ASAP, by the 25th. at the latest. “ Thank you, Don Rex - drx44420@sbcglobal.cet Sara Smith Tom Smith - onbohio@gmail.com Please lets support these organization that in return will help us to uses these rivers. Thanks Mike.
But my email is onbohio@gmail.com I'm a Denver Broncos fan. The onb is for orange n blue. But I can understand how a Steeler or Browns fan might mistake that for obnoxious. |
