Moraine State Park – Frostbite Run
November 5, 2017
11:00 am

Moraine State Park, take Rt. 422 East (Butler), then take the Moraine South Shore exit. Turn left and go into the park. As soon as you enter the park you will see the Park Office, make a hard left and it will take you to Bear Run Boat Launch, we will meet at 11:00 am. If you happen to miss the left turn, just keep going and it will take you in a big circle and you will end up at Bear Run Boat Launch. This is where we will put in, then we will go under the bridge into Porters Cove. We will paddle this cove and then come out and go to The Sailboat Marina and have lunch. (pack a lunch). As of last week the restrooms were open. After we eat lunch we will paddle across the lake back to Bear Run Boat Launch. This will be approx. a five mile paddle. Depending on the weather we can either shorten or lengthen the trip.

Contact Butch with any questions or if you are running late 330-301-0453

I was just checking up. I am leaving for Lorraine for a few days. I just wanted to know if it was still on. From the response there are definitely a few of us ready to take on mother nature and enjoy another day of paddling.

We had a total of 6 paddlers, all kayaks. About 10 minutes in we had a downpour, then it let up. We then continued to the marina and had lunch, then headed back. A total of about 2 hours. We all had a good time, but we're hoping for better weather next year.
