Well, this was a fun trip even if I did carry boats a lot further than I anticipated and across a busy road and up a good hill. I would do it again ... but maybe with our own shuttle the next time. The train was a real novelty especially for a paddling event. And of course the river had enough water and a lot of twists and turns as it's nickname, Crooked River, would suggest. All told, a great outing even if you got tired from the extra long carry. It gives us something to talk (complain ?) about but for sure we will remember it for a long time.
Hopefully a load of 32 canoes and kayaks is something the Train folks will remember and hopefully it's something that the Park Service will take note of for future planning of the river usage. Thanks Mike and Jessica for your time and effort to arrange/lead this trip. It went well. -KenM |

Video
I finally got done editing my go pro and got a nice video done. I kept it under 5 minutes, I hope all who paddled will look at it and remember what a great day it was, minus the hiking.
