Put in on the right side of the creek at the parking lot for the bike & hike trails. This is located just north of Drake Well in Oil Creek State Park (at one end of the Oil Creek bike trail). Take out at the Petroleum Center (the other end of the bike trail). The take-out is after the bike trail bridge, but before the tressel on the left side of the creek. The paddle takes approximately 3.5 hours with a lunch stop.
You won't run into any water hazards or strainers, and the put-in and take-out are easy.
It's a beautiful run, with no residences along the way.
