The planning meeting will be here before ya know it, and I thought I would throw this out there just to see what comes of it . . .
If you are daring enough (it's really not that big of a deal) to be a trip leader, you could propose any trip of your choosing, and make a go of it. But maybe there is a stream that is far from you, or that you are not familiar enough with to offer to be the lead, but might like to see on the schedule. Or maybe it's a trip we've done in the past, but have not done for a while. Anybody interested in any western NY or northern WV trips? Just brain storming here; there are no wrong answers. Anyways . . . What trips would folks like to see?

Great idea for the hot stove months as a way to get revved up for the paddling season, Mark!
Thank goodness for club trip leaders. No leaders, no trips! But there can be a fair amount of work involved, particularly arranging for scouting trips, figuring out shuttles, parking etc and dealing the the variables of weather and water levels leading up to and on game day. Here is a paddling wish list (in no particular order) within a reasonable traveling distance of most club members: 1. Raccoon Creek PA, Green Garden Plaza to St. Joe Boat Club or the more recently established upstream access point, Class I-II, 12? miles 2. Slippery Rock Creek, PA, Eckert Bridge to Harris Bridge, Class II-III, 3.2 miles 3. Ashtabula River, OH, Green Hill Road to Indian Trail Park, Class II+, 7 miles 4. East Sandy Creek, PA, Van to Allegheny River, Class II, 10.5 miles 5. South Sandy Creek, PA, State Game Lands #39 to Pecan, 8.5 miles, Class I-II 6. Middle Fork, Little Beaver Creek, OH, Franklin Square to Willow Grove Park near Lisbon, 10? miles, Class I 7. North Fork, Little Beaver Creek, PA and OH, Darlington, PA to Pancake-Clarkson Rd, OH, Class I?, 10? miles 8. Vermilion River, north central OH 9. Neshannock Creek, PA, Volant to New Castle Paddling wish list farther afield in no particular order: 1. Sideling Hill Creek, MD, US Route 40 to the Potomac River, Class I-II, 10-11 miles 2. Cacapon River, WV, Cold Spring put in to WV Route 127, Class I-II, 9 miles (could extend another 18 miles to Largent on mostly flat water) 3. Casselman River, PA, Markleton to Fort Hill, Class II-III, 6 miles 4. Laurel Hill Creek, PA, Whipkey Dam Road to Covered Bridge Road, Class I-III, 8 miles Last edited by JPTolson; 01-23-2025 at 08:10 PM. |

I want to lead a 50-mile trip in honor of our 50th year this summer. The trip will probably be 3 days, 2 nights on a section of the Allegheny River. Will have to decide on either Buckaloons to Oil City or Oil City to Parker. would like the weekend of June 20 -22. Right around the solstice so we have plenty of daylight.
Anybody interested?

I am in. I have done from Buckaloons to oil city in the past. I am attending the training event by Allegheny outfitters on Feb. 16 on planning a 100 trip on the Allegheny so will have that info to share at the planning meeting. Thanks
